Today I am starting a 15-day email and list building challenge. Well, sort of.
I have been doing this internet marketing thing and have built some lists in the past. However, novice that I was in the workings of the whole gamut of internet business, I have let the list go stale and did not focus on developing a good relationship with them. Also, I have been guilty of flaundering from one method to another, hence the Focus on a particular business until successful was not there.
So today I am thinking to put the whole blueprint of list building into test. And of course, the required email marketing to make the entire effort fruitful, a.k.a., profitable and productive.
Confession – some of the things required I might already have but I’m still following definite steps that you can also follow.
Day 1 – Planning Stage
======================
You need to decide on the following items:
– customers (who will your subscribers be)
– optin or free products (pdf e-book, video, software etc.)
– products to promote (creating your own or affiliate product)
– email to write (purpose of writing – relationship building, promo, teaching, infotainment etc.)
For me, I want to target entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The optin product has just been set-up as a link in this blog. You will see this in the upper right hand corner titled “7 Reasons to Venture into Email Marketing”. If you would do me a favor and optin in that page so I get to know you.
The products I will promote will initially be my own on “Email Runway” (stay tuned as this is still being finalized on its own domain) and some affiliate products that will be helpful to everyone. I also have a software that me and my partners are developing that will help you in your email marketing efforts.
The purpose to write email is initially to build a relationship with the list and then all the other items listed above.
So this will be a long journey for me and I hope you will join me in this quest. For now, I have zero subscribers to the list and will update you either daily or every week if I get distracted 🙂
Get to work now…Jen DG
